Sketchbook Project LE spreadTheme: Distance and Time
I worked on this last night. I was tidying up my desk before going to bed when I came across the sketchbook and realized I only have about 4 weeks to work on it before sending it back to NY. About 20 minutes in I got an idea for the freeway signs. One rule I made for myself was to keep ALL pages intact not matter how much I messed up, so I used white out on what I already drew and started again.  Believe me, I was really tempted to throw out these pages when I saw the areas I tried to cover up sticking out like a sore thumb. But I didn’t! I’ve ripped out as many as 6 pages from past sketchbook projects because I was so bothered by the mistakes.  I see this as a sign of progress. :)
San Clemente holds a special place in my heart. It’s where I go when I want to get away. Not too far but far enough for a change of scenery. I go to the North Shore beach right by the Amtrak station. It’s beautiful there. A giant helping of sun, sand, and the Pacific coast does an amazing job of lifting my spirits.
Also, I’ve posted scans of my entire Sketchbook Project 2012 at my Art House Co-op profile. Let me know what you think :) :)
